Instagram can be an effective tool for making connections, finding opportunities, and reaching your target audience. However, it can be hard to reach your account’s full potential without a practical strategy! For the month of September, I’ll be showing you 4 ways you can upgrade your Instagram. This week, let’s talk about how to break the ice with your audience!
First things first, if you haven’t read the other parts of this series, you can read them by clicking the buttons below.

Break the ice with your followers two ways:
build a good bio
&
utilize stories
Like the first nine, your bio should display who you are and what you do at a glance! Convert visitors into followers by being the solution to their needs and doing it with charm. What are the problems you solve for your ideal client? Put those solutions in your bio, but do it with levity. You can throw in a few emojis for visual interest and to break up text with some color!
Choose your profile photo carefully and don’t change it often. I recommend using your headshot over a logo -faces are friendlier than graphics. Switching out a profile photo more than once every few months make a brand feel less professional, so choose yours wisely and stick with it.
You can only add one link in your IG bio, but there’s a trick to it -use LinkTree! You can build a landing page with buttons to direct your followers to your website, blog, etsy page, newsletter sign-up, etc. LinkTree is free to use and super easy to incorporate.

Instagram stories are an opportunity to be authentic and a little vulnerable to your audience -this will help build both brand familiarity and trust.
Your Instagram stories don’t need to be organized and high-end content. While your Instagram feed should be more polished and curated, you can use cell phone-created images and video in stories freely. Pique your follower’s interest in your brand by sharing the details of your work day, workspace, projects, hobbies -all of it!
One of the most important things to share in your Instagram stories is yourself. There are lots of people in your industry, but there is only one you! Brand loyalty is built on familiarity, so think of your followers as friends. Use that front-facing cellphone camera and chat with your audience (I make a point to do this at least once a week!).

One of the best upgrades you can do for your Instagram feed (and entire brand) is to invest in custom personal branding images. These images are created thoughtfully and intentionally to match your existing brand and to help you reach your goals! Click here to learn more: https://elizabethaimages.com/personal-branding/
