Kristina Kay (Lake Norman Boudoir) and I decided to kick off the new year with an adventure boudoir celestial styled shoot! On January 19, we did just that.
We started planning this celestial styled shoot in October 2020, and (like most of the styled shoots we create together) it got bigger and more elaborate with each passing month!
A styled shoot is a collective effort by a team of creatives to create a conceptual photoshoot -in this case, boudoir celestial styled shoot. Styled shoots like Stars Align are a fantastic way to connect with other industry professionals and create beautiful, valuable marketing material for every brand involved.
This 3-hr styled shoot included indoor two staged sets and one outdoor location.
Location 1 : Setup 1
I created this setup a using borrowed glassware and dried florals. The setup took about two and a half hours!
Location 1 : Setup 2
While I put together Setup #1, Kristina created our second set. Kristina tied star garlands to a tall backdrop stand to create this magical falling star look.
The image above to the right is one of my favorite images from the shoot, and it was a total accident! I was trying to focus on Kaela, but my lens front-focus on the garlands instead. Don’t you love a happy accident?
Our second location is an unused part of the Merino Mill complex. Kristina and I just fell in love with these dramatic concrete columns when we originally toured the venue!
