In late 2020, I had the pleasure of creating a gallery of versatile and beautiful personal brand images for Shay Reeves LMFT and her brand new business, Ahimsa Counseling and Wellness.
Shay Reeves is a licensed family and marriage therapist in the Charlotte, NC area -though she can work with patients anywhere in the world through virtual sessions! Shay specializes in working with individuals and couples.
We began the session at my friend Kristina Kay’s photography studio in downtown Mooresville. The studio has the most beautiful, dramatic light first thing in the morning -perfect for Shay’s bold vision for her branding.
Shay drinks a lot of tea and encourages her patients to use the ritual of tea time as a way to support their mental and emotional health. This aspect of her practice was easy to integrate into the session!

I created a second workspace setup against the black wall for an added touch of drama.
After a quick outfit change, we re-used the desk setup. I think that utilizing two outfits in the workspace setup will provide a blend of continuity and variety to social media posts when Shay shares behind-the-scenes imagery over time.
One of our goals was to show how accessible and pleasant virtual counseling with Shay is.
Our second location for the Ahimsa Counseling and Wellness brand photo shoot was Merino Mill, an industrial retail park just down the road from Kristina’s photography studio. Shay restyled her second outfit with a tweed jacket, black felt hat, and new accessories to get a third look.
