My first photo shoot of 2022 was with Amy Hipple of Amy’s Mini Creations. We worked together to create a set of versatile and beautiful images to fit her art brand.
Amy Hipple, the artist behind Amy’s Mini Creations, is an abstract painter in Charlotte, NC. Her beautiful works are inspired by nature, particularly vibrant and colorful sunsets!
Amy booked this session with me in preparation for her upcoming March 2022 show at the Artisan’s Palate! The art show details are included at the bottom of this post.
We began our shoot at Elizabeth Park near uptown Charlotte. We chose Elizabeth Park for its picturesque, year-round greenery and rocky creek.
This little spot by the creak is great for both standing and seated poses! I love the rocks beside the tunnel for seated headshots. The edge of the creek makes for a dramatic backdrop with leading lines and lots of organic texture!
We walked along the Little Sugar Creek Greenway until we came upon this staircase that I adore! Stairs provide an opportunity for a multitude of organic-feeling poses, especially when products are involved.
We featured a number of Amy’s paintings in this spot.
Our next stop was Pearl Street Park. We had strong enough light to work inside the arbor, much to my delight!
I love the way the arbor beautifully frames Amy! I used a reflection trick in the image below to reflect squares of the sky back into the frame.
We moved to the outside of the Pearl Street Park arbor and used a gorgeous evergreen tree as a backdrop.
As the sun began to dip below the horizon, we scuttled over to the Target parking deck. We used the last few beams of light to capture some Charlotte skyline images!
Amy was a delight to work with, and I’m so looking forward to her March 2022 show!
