Earlier this year, I worked with my friend and long-time client Amelia B to create a styled boudoir portrait session. Together we came up with three distinct concepts that I designed sets for.

Setup One
Our first set gives a boho plant lady vibe (which describes Amelia well).

It took a few tries to catch the perfume droplets (images below) in the air! Knowing this would be the case, the perfume bottle was filled with water rather than perfume for Amelia’s comfort.

The earrings and necklace set included in this set are by local jewelry designer Shy Siren. The pieces had been provided previously for the Stars Align styled shoot (January 2021), and I’ve been able to utilize them in a number of styled client shoots!
Setup Two
Our second concept was inspired by Taylor Swift’s song “Mirror Ball.” Amelia is a total Swiftie and gleefully showed up to our shoot with boxes disco balls and garlands. I used her props and my backdrop holder to create this glittery scene!

We were blessed with very strong sunlight that made this scene glow! I had planned for this timing-wise, but I can never promise light streak and shadow play as I can’t control the weather. We were both thrilled that the sun was on our side that day!

Setup Three
With our previous two sets being more complex, my design for our third set was simplistic. I wanted her in a white outfit to match the studio’s white bed set and to use props intentionally. I wanted to play with textures in a very limited color palette, paired with brightly-colored props.

These images are so playful and striking!

As always, Amelia and I had a great time together! She is so much fun to create with.
